The Rev. Robert L. Goode Sr.

The Rev. Robert L. Goode, Sr., age 75, of Kinston, formerly of Raleigh, departed this life on Friday, August 30, 2024.

Funeral, 11 AM, Saturday, September 7, 2024, at St. Paul AME Church, 402 W. Edenton Street, Raleigh.  The Rev. Dr. Larry D. McDonald Sr., Pastor, Officiating.  Retired Presiding Elder Artie Odom, Eulogist.  Visitation, 10:30 AM to 11 AM, prior to the service.  Interment, Carolina Biblical Gardens, 1530 Creech Road, Garner.  Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8 PM, Friday, September 6, 2024 at the funeral home.  

Survivors; beloved wife, Vera Martin Goode; sons, (Chief Warrant Officer 4) Robert L. Goode Jr. (Kathleen) and Herbert Goode and his fiancé', Tanishia; 2 granddaughters, Mia and Kyla; siblings, The Rev. Frances Holloway (The Rev. Johnny Holloway), Dr. Melba McCallum (Benjamin McCallum Sr.), Estelle Williams (Frankie Williams Sr.), Valecia Scott (Stewart Scott Sr.), John Goode Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2024, and Friday, September 6, 2024, from 3 PM until 7 PM at 714 Method Road, Raleigh.    In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Leukemia Society of America or to Mrs. Vera M. Goode c/o P.O. Box 28735 Raleigh, NC 27620.
