Ms. Mary Joanne Chavis, age 58, of Hope Mills, formerly of Raleigh, departed this life on Monday, December 11, 2023.

Funeral, 11:30 AM, Tuesday, December 19, 2023, Wake Chapel Church, 4509 Bland Road, Raleigh.  Senior Pastor Sharon Dean, Officiating.  Pastor LaTriece McMillan, Eulogist. Visitation, 11 AM to 11:30 AM prior to the service. Interment, Wake Chapel Church Cemetery.  Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8 PM, Monday, December 18, 2023 at the funeral home.  

Survivors: daughter, Kandice Chavis, Shavonne Chavis and Ronnie Chavis; siblings, Cynthia Cross (Melvin), Gwendolyn Chavis (Willie Reid), Marshall Chavis, Danny Chavis and Ronnie Chavis; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends at 4432 Kingsburg Circle, Garner.
