Mrs. Virginia "Jean" Royal Ward, age 77, of Cary, departed this life on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

Graveside Service, 11 AM, Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Wake Memorial Park, 7002 Green Hope School Road, Cary, NC.  The Rev. Norman Peart, Pastor, Grace Bible Fellowship Church, Officiating. Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8 PM, Friday, May 20, 2022, at the funeral home. 

"Jean" is survived by; her son, Stephen; her siblings: Bertha Pettiford and Philip (Cathy) Royal of Roxboro, NC; Caleb Royal of Philadelphia, Gene (Cassandra) Royal of New Castle, DE; Cecil Royal, Katie Royal, and Barbara (Jesse) Moses of Washington, DC; Don (Barbara) Royal of Council Bluffs, IA; and David (Sheila) Royal of Harrisburg, PA; sisters-in-law Cassandra Royal of Leasburg, NC; Dazella Royal of Silver Spring, MD; Joan Royal of Washington, DC, Vynetta Ross (Allan) of Bronxville, NY; Maryella Leigh (Ronald) of Elizabeth City, NC; Jean’s daughter in law, Keisha (Michael’s wife); grandchildren, Jasmine, Brittney, Brett & Bria; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
