Ms. Mattie Hayes Grissom, age 97, of Raleigh, departed this life on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Transitions LifeCare of Wake County. 

Funeral, 11 AM, Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Baptist Grove Church, 7109 Leesville Road, Raleigh. The Rev. Dr. Bankole Akinbinu, Pastor, Officiating.  Visitation, 10:30 AM to 11 AM, prior to the service.  Interment, Baptist Grove Church Cemetery.   Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8 PM, Monday, August 11, 2025, at the funeral home.  

Survivors: daughters, Loretta G Partlow, Cynthia G Bell, Sonja Fenner (Orlando), sons, Luther Grissom (Althea), Ural Grissom, Jr. (Brenda), Kenneth Grissom, Donald Grissom, Sr. (Cristal), Deacon Stephen B Grissom, Sr. (Louie); 24 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 great-great children; siblings, Alease Bobo, Dallie Davis, Kathleen Stephenson; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends at 6100 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh.
