Mrs. Louise Augusta Thomas McDonald

Ms. Louise Augusta McDonald, 97, of Richmond, VA, departed this life on Sunday, January 8, 2023.

Funeral, 1:30 PM, Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Cary First Christian Church, 1109 Evans Road, Cary.  The Rev. Michael Brickhouse, Pastor, Officiating.  Visitation, 1 PM to 1:30 PM, prior to the service.  Interment, Cary First Christian Church Cemetery, Cary.  Public viewing, 2 PM - 6 PM, Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the funeral home. 

Mrs. McDonald attended Richmond City Schools. She went to Maggie L. Walker High School where she played clarinet in the high school band. She worked for the Richmond Public School System until she retired.

Louise grew up in the church and was a devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Richmond, VA.

In 2019 Louise moved from Richmond to North Carolina to live with her daughter. She attended Cary First Christian Church until the start of the pandemic.

Although she had a quiet demeanor, Louise had a big smile for whomever she met.

Louise is survived by; daughters Marilyn M. Carney (Rev. Lionel Carney) and Arlene M. Jones (Larry); 2 grandchildren, Nikole Jones and Larry Jones Jr.: 2 great-grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends, including, Yolanda Yvette McDonald, whom she treated as her own daughter.
