Mrs. Janie Calhoun Jones, age 85, formerly of Raleigh, departed this life on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Funeral, 12 Noon, Friday, March 20, 2026, at St. John AME Church, 3001 Tryon Road, Raleigh.  The Rev. Philip R. Cousin Jr., Pastor, Officiating.    Interment, Carolina Biblical Gardens, Garner.  Visitation, 11:30 AM to 12 Noon, prior to the service.  Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the funeral home. 

Janie is survived by three siblings, Lizzie Virgies (Detroit,MI), Mary Lee Hale (Selma, AL), Essie Mae Quarles (Palmdale, CA),  niece Linda Robertson, nephew Junnus Clay,  one adopted son, Donta, three stepchildren, Cleveland, Paul (Sheila), and Ann, four grandchildren, Chris Copeland (Felicia), Regene Dodoo (Robert), Richana Capenter (Jack) and Shavonne-Jones-Gantt (Okema), three great grands, Donte, Ashley, and Jaxson, including a host of other family and friends who provided special care during her latter years.
