Mrs. D. LaVerne Means Harrison, age 71, of Raleigh, departed this life on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the Elizabeth Hospice House, Hendersonville, NC.

Memorial Service, 2 PM, Friday, January 23, 2026. St. Paul AME Church, 402 W. Edenton Street, Raleigh. The Reverend Larry McDonald, Pastor, Officiating.

Delta Sigma Theta Omega Omega Service, 6:30 PM, Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Watts Chapel Baptist Church, 3703 Tryon Road, Raleigh.

Survivors; daughter, DeAnna Ashley Garland (Kevin Jr.); grandchildren, Kevin Garland III and Liam Garland; siblings, Joseph Means, John Harrison, Patricia Harrison, James Means, Joelyn Baker (Boyce), Wayne Means, Eric Means, Timothy Means (Tina), Dolitha Means, Roma Means Grimes (Calvin), Kay Means and Theresa Wilson (Chris); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
