Mr. Willie Marvin "Billy" Chavis, Jr., age 65, of 9012 Ray Road, Raleigh, departed this life after an extended illness, on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Duke Raleigh Hospital.

The family will hold a private service at a later date. There will be no public viewing.

“Billy” was preceded in death by his father, Willie Marvin Chavis Sr. Remembering "Billy;" mother, Virginia Harris Chavis of the home; son, Demetrius Dozier (and his mother, Debra Coleman); sisters, Virginia Ann Chavis Justice (Ralph Justice), Carol Chavis Alexander (Dr. Winser Alexander) and Marva Chavis Motley; brother, The Rev. Timothy Chavis (Eulla Chavis) all of Raleigh; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
