Mr. Roy Roosevelt Gwyn, Jr., age 82, of Wake Forest, departed this life on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, NC.

Funeral, 12 Noon, Monday, April 29, 2024, at St. Matthew Baptist Church, 5410 Louisburg Road, Raleigh.  The Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Avery, Pastor, Officiating.  Visitation, 11:30 AM to 12 Noon prior to the service.  Interment, Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest.  Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8 PM, Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the funeral home. 

He is survived by his wife, Eva Mae Berry-Gwyn of Wake Forest; children, Darryl R. Gwyn (Cheryl Taylor-Gwyn) of Greenville, SC and Kisha N. Gwyn-Destin of Clarksburg, MD; grandchildren, Everett Taylor Gwyn of Valparaiso, IN, Armand Destin, Adia V. Destin and Talik Destin all of Clarksburg, MD; siblings, Ella Jean Gwyn-Clyburn, Robert A. Gwyn, Donald R. Gwyn (Rev. Janet Gwyn) and Wanda Gwyn-Banks (Rev. Gilbert Banks) all of Winston-Salem; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  

Mr. Gwyn was preceded in death by a grandson, Jordan Taylor Gwyn, and siblings Marie Francis Gwyn-McLaurin, James Harold Gwyn, and Kenneth Wayne Gwyn.
