Mr. Roy Lee Burgess, age 71, of Raleigh, departed this life on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at UNC Rex Hospital.

Funeral, Monday, December 23, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at Poplar Springs Christian Church, 6115 Old Stage Road, Raleigh, NC, The Reverend DeAshley Curtis, Officiating. Visitation 11:30 AM to 12:00 Noon prior to the service. Interment, Maplewood Cemetery, 145 Vogue Street, Clayton, N. C. Public viewing, 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, December 22, 2024 at the funeral home.

Survivors; daughter, Crystal Burgess; grandchildren, BeAsia Allen, FeShon Bledsoe, D'Erica Burgess, Royal Palmer, and Tahleea Palmer; siblings, Linda Ray, Ernell Burgess, Brenda Burgess Poole, Evangela Burgess, Ardarion Burgess, Barry Burgess and Jarverene Stuart; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
