Even though Marquinne (lovingly called "Mark") did not live long, he left behind a family that will dearly miss him. Marquinne Terrence Clark passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at his home, with his mother, grandmother and father by his side.
Our angel, Marquinne, age 32, will always be a precious gift and memory to our family. He was born on February 2, 1989 in Brooklyn, New York to his surviving parents, Vanessa Ann Clark and Carlton Terrence Clark; 1 sister, Octavia A. Clark; two brothers, Christopher E. Clark and Malcolm X. Clark; maternal grandmother, Annie Thomas of Raleigh; paternal grandmother, Minnie E. Clark of Albertson, 1 uncle, Pete Gilchrist of Raleigh; 1 aunt, Charisse M. Clark of Brooklyn, NY; and numerous great aunts, uncles and a host of generational cousins, relatives and friends.
Marquinne was preceeded in death; by his maternal grandfather, Leo Gilchrist and paternal grandfather, Carlton Clark.
Mark liked watching TV and movies, while eating snacks, he loved wearing outfits in red and he liked walking and shopping with his mom and dad. Mark was most happiest when he was sitting in church, clapping and raising his hands in worship. “We truly believe he is doing that now.”
Funeral, 2 PM, Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Greater Pentecostal Faith Deliverance Church, International. Bishop Claude E. Cooke, Pastor, Bishop Harold Williams of Church of the Living God Outreach Ministries, Inc, Officiating. Visitation, 1:30 PM to 2 PM, prior to the service. Interment, Lillyfield Cemetery, 135 Old Small Chapel Lane, Benson. Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8 PM, Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the funeral home.
Survivors; parents, Carlton & Vanessa Gilchrist Clark both of the home; sister, Octavia A. Clark of Raleigh; brothers, Malcolm Xavier Clark and Christopher E. Clark both of Raleigh; paternal grandmother, Minnie Olivia Clark of Albertson; maternal grandmother, Annie Lou Thomas of Raleigh; and a host of other relatives and friends.
