Mr. Larry Edward Holt, age 74, of Knightdale, departed this life on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

Larry Edward Holt was preceded in Death by his loving parents Mr. Ardo Clayton Holt Sr. and Mrs. Julia Margaret Holt.

Larry was educated in the Raleigh Schools System, graduating from J.W. Ligon High School.  In 1969, he furthered his education at Saint Augustine College (now University). Larry was known for his great talent in playing baseball.  He was a proud Brother of Nu Gamma Alpha Fraternity along with his brothers, Dwight Holt and Dennis Holt. Larry was a talented brick mason and had a passion for drawing.  He enjoyed the company of his family and friends.  A good meal always made the experience even better. He was known for saying “TOUGH” because that’s just what he was.  Larry was a tough man with a great heart. 

Larry leaves to cherish his memories; his son, Rodney Penny; grandchildren, Tishsondra Grimes; grandson, Priceless Penny and great granddaughter, Nevaeh Sledge; sisters, Margaret H. Herndon and Vernice H. Whyms of Raleigh and Linda H. Anderson of Silver Spring, MD; brothers Ardo C Holt Jr. (Patricia) and Dennis E. Holt (Regina) of Newark, Delaware, Dwight J. Holt (Selena) and Frederick E Holt of Raleigh; and a host of nieces and nephews, Nu Gamma Alpha Fraternity Brothers and a many friends.  

Larry will truly be missed but his legacy will live on. We, the Family, thank the Lord for allowing us to have him as a part of our family 

The Memorial Service for Larry Edward Holt will be held at Worthdale Community Center, 1001 Cooper Road, Raleigh, on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 12 Noon to 2 PM.
