Mr. Kamari James Louis Strayhorn, age 17, of Raleigh, departed this life  on Sunday, October 17, 2021.  

Funeral, 12 Noon, Friday, October 22, 2021, at Steven L. Lyons Funeral Home, 1515 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh.  The Rev. John J. Wilkins Jr., Officiating.  Visitation, 11:30 AM to 12 Noon, prior to the service. 

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Kourtney Strayhorn of the home, and father, Octavius James Simpson, Raleigh, North Carolina; five sisters Trinity Strayhorn, Raleigh, North Carolina; Skilar Strayhorn, Mebane, North Carolina; Harmonee Strayhorn, BreLynn Strayhorn, and Sandra “KK” Strayhorn of the home; four brothers, Kameron Strayhorn, Kethan Strayhorn, Kaden Strayhorn of the home; and Jay’quon Feron Simpson, Fayetteville, North Carolina; maternal grandparents, Joe Louis and Sandra Kinsey Strayhorn, Raleigh, North Carolina; paternal grandmother, Telora Simpson, Durham, North Carolina; five aunts, Edgwena Love-Richardson, Raleigh, North Carolina; Linda Kinsey, Maysville, North Carolina; Wanda Gatlin, Hampton, Virginia; Teffanie Phelps (Darrell), Durham, North Carolina; and Vinita Hill, Plymouth, North Carolina; two uncles, Kenny Boisin, Maysville, North Carolina; Arthur Clements, Brooklyn, New York; a girlfriend, Jamora Stokes, Raleigh, North Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends.
