Mr. James Cornelius Bishop, age 76, of Spring Hope, departed this life on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Pruitt Health of Raleigh. 

Funeral, 2 PM, Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Steven L. Lyons Funeral Home, 1515 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh.  The Rev. Dr. Arthur L. Stanback, Officiating. Visitation, 1:30 - 2 PM, prior to the service.  Interment, Wake field Baptist Church Cemetery, Zebulon.  Public viewing, 1 - 8 PM, Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the funeral home.

Survivors; wife, Ida Lois Williams Bishop of the home; daughters, Naomi Bishop of Durham and Moeia Moore (James) of Raleigh; sons, Jullian C. "J.C." Bishop (Angela) of Fayetteville, James C. "Jimmy" Bishop (Delmetha) of Petersburg, VA and William Patillo (Chekera) of North End, MD; 6 sisters; 3 brothers; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at 2114 Milburnie Road, Raleigh.
