Mr. James A. "Duke" Rivers, age 75, of Raleigh, departed this life on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Transitions LifeCare of Wake County.

Funeral, 12 Noon, Monday, January 22, 2024, St. Matthew Baptist Church, 5410 Louisburg Road, Raleigh. The Rev. Dr. Ronald E. Avery, Pastor, Officiating. Visitation, 11:30 AM to 12 Noon, prior to the service. Interment, Montlawn Memorial Park. Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2024 at the funeral home.

Survivors; wife, Sonya Barnett Rivers; children, James Johnson (Davida), Kristen Rivers and Jasmine Rivers; sibling, Floyd A. Rivers; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
