Mr. Herbert Cotton, age 83, of Raleigh, departed this life on Monday, October 6, 2025.

Funeral, 11 AM, Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Lincolnville AME Church, 6400 Chapel Hill Road, Raleigh. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Beatty Sr., Officiating. Visitation, 10:30 AM to 11 AM, Saturday, prior to the funeral. Interment, The Historic Oakwood Cemetery,701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh. Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8 PM, Friday, October 10, 2025, at the funeral home.  

Survivors; daughters, Tammyé Cotton of the home and Terri Cotton Jeffery of Garner; son, Herbert Anthony (Kim) of Raleigh; grandsons, Dominique, Damian and Dion Cotton, Tre’Vohn and Tey’lan Jeffery; great-granddaughters, Saffire and Empress Cotton all of Raleigh; great grandsons, Legend Cotton and Zyell Cotton both of Raleigh; brothers, David Cotton of Raleigh, Mack Cotton (Holly) of Louisburg, Stephen Cotton (Barbara) of Louisiana, Ernest Cotton of Raleigh; sister, Roberta Evans (Larry) of Raleigh; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends at 2704 Sanderford Road, Raleigh.
