Mr. Alvah "Al" Henderson

Mr. Alvah (Al) Henderson, age 71, of Raleigh placed his hands in the Master’s hands, closed his eyes and entered life everlasting on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. Al as he was affectionately called was born in Elizabeth City, NC reared in Long Island, NY. He moved to Raleigh, NC in recent retirement years to be closer to his loving family.

A celebration of his life will take place on Wednesday September 1, 2021, 11 AM, Steven L. Lyons Funeral Home, 1515 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh. The Reverend Dr. J. Vincent Terry, Sr.,
Pastor, Mount Peace Baptist Church, Officiating.

Mr. Henderson was preceded in death; by his parents, Melvin and Pearl Cohen Henderson; siblings: Alphonso Miller, Mary Ann Henderson Jackson and Joyce Henderson Canada.

"AL" is survived by; son; Rodney Singleton Sr. of Gainesville Florida; grandchildren; Chris Singleton, Rodney Singleton Jr., Lekindrix Forrest, Jacquelyn Singleton, and Brycen Singleton;
twin great-grandchildren: Hendrix and Harley; (2) brothers; Ronald Henderson, Palm Coast Florida, Peter Henderson , Atlanta Georgia; loving sisters, Gwendolyn  H. Moore, Ozark Alabama, Christine H. Fisher, Wheatley Heights New York and Helen P Henderson, Raleigh; special friend; Jacqueline Satterwhite and a myriad of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
