Mother Sallie Mae Knighton Carr, age 75, of Rolesville, departed this life on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
Funeral, 12 Noon, Saturday, May 3, 2025, Upper Room Church of God in Christ, 3300 Idlewood Village Dr., Raleigh. Bishop Patrick L. Wooden, Sr., Pastor. Bishop Kirk Crowder, Eastern Star Holiness Church, Raleigh, Mother Carr's Pastor. Officiating. Visitation, with the family present, 11 AM to 12 Noon, prior to the service. Interment, Rose Hill Funeral Home Cemetery, Magnolia, NC, Monday, May 5, 2025, at 11 AM. Public viewing, Friday, May 2, 2025, at the funeral home.
Mother Carr was preceded in death by her husband, Elder John C. Carr and her parents, Nelvin and Rosetta Knighton.
Survivors; daughter, Monique Knighton; grandchildren, Brittany V. Knighton, Brandon D. Knighton, Deltonee R. Martin, Simisola Cambell and; great grandchildren, Shyanne Knighton and Skylar Knighton; siblings, Melvin Knighton (Andrea), Edwin Knighton (Mildred), Rosemary Lewis (Chester), Benjamin Knighton, Laura Ketter (Johnny) and William Drayton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including god-children, Shea Ellison, Cedina McCollum, Brian Powell, Charlene Martin, Jecori Howie and Angela Joe as well as in-laws, M.L. Carr (Sylvia), Carrie Bell Knighton, Mary Pratt and Linda Fennell (Joe).
The family will receive friends at Mother Carr's home, 400 Grand Rock Way, Apt. 206, Rolesville.
