Bishop Janell Simpson, age 83, of 908 S. Blount Street, Raleigh, departed this life on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.
Funeral, 11:30 AM, Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Victory Tabernacle Church, 1329 US 70 West, Garner. The Rev. James Perkins, Pastor. Overseer Frank Simpson Jr., Officiating. Interment, Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Avenue, Raleigh. Visitation, 11 AM to 11:30 AM, prior to the service. Public viewing, 12 Noon to 4 PM, Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the funeral home and 5 PM to 8 PM at her Church, Miracle Temple Holiness Church of Deliverance, 2421 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh. The family will be present from 7 PM until 8 PM.
Bishop Simpson was preceded in death by; her husband, Frank Simpson, Sr. and daughters, Joann Bennett and Dorothy Mangum.
Survivors: daughters, Janice Roberson of the home, Mary Harrington (Herbert, III), and Peggie Smith (John) both of Raleigh; son, Overseer Frank Simpson, Jr. (Sandra) of Raleigh; 20 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 36 great great grandchildren; sons-in-law, John Bennett and William Mangum, Sr. both of Raleigh and host of other relatives and friends.
