Mrs. Nellie Ruth Jones, age 90, formerly of Raleigh, departed this life on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center, Charlotte.

Funeral, 2 PM, Monday, December 2, 2019, Steven L. Lyons Funeral Home Chapel, 1515 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh. Visitation, 1:30 to 2 PM, prior to the service. Interment, Poplar Springs Christian Church Cemetery, 6115 Old Stage Road, Raleigh. The Rev. Nellie Harris, Matthew Chapel Holy Church, Officiating.

Survivors; daughters, Dr. Priscilla Jones Akpaita of Charlotte and Vivian Ruth Jones of Raleigh; sons, Roy Jones (Nikki) of Canada and Alton Jones (Cathy) of Millersville, MO; sister, Katie Lennon of Raleigh; brother, Frank Ings of Raleigh; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8 PM, Sunday, December 1, 2019, at the funeral home.
