Deacon Fred Norman  Byrd "Big Byrd" , age 56, of 5704 Brambleton Avenue, Raleigh, departed this life on Monday, June 24, 2019.  Visitation, 12:30 to 1PM, Saturday, June 29, 2019 followed by the funeral at 1PM, New Bethel Christian Church, 4307 Old Poole Road, Raleigh.  The Rev. Tracy J. Bell, Pastor.  The Rev. Elmo Vance, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Clayton, Officiating.  The Rev. Stanley Byrd, Pastor, Kingdom Harvest Church, Eulogist.  Interment, H.L.L.B.G., Creedmoor.

Survivors; daughter, Erika Grace Byrd of the home; sisters, Dorlores Redfern (John) of Raleigh, Della Byrd of Garner and Alene Byrd of Charlotte; brother, Kennedy Earl Byrd of Raleigh; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends at 9109 Old Cascade Drive, Garner.

Public viewing, 12 Noon to 8PM, Friday, June 28, 2019, at the funeral home.
